As many of you know I moved out of the nest at the beginning of this year. I've moved out before but I had to come back because I had the roommate from hell. This time I moved by myself in a tiny one bedroom with the determination not to go back. There are many things that you learn about yourself once you move out. So I bring to you the top five things I've learned by moving out.
5.) I am a Loner
I like to be alone. I entertain myself just wonderful I am my number one fan. Don't get me wrong I'm no cat lady it's nothing wrong with having company every now and then but I don't need people to be around me like I thought I did. I enjoy my own company and once you can truly appreciate yourself only then can you be comfortable with someone. I had to learn this the hard way.
4.) I am not a Slob
I used to keep my room in my mothers house horrible sloppy. But once you get your own spot an inner maid comes out and makes sure you're not living in chaos. I have designated clean up days where I can't be interrupted from my cleaning.
3.) I'm Way more traditional
I thought because I dressed so out there that it would carry over into my interior decorating but alas it didn't. I love ultra traditional furniture. I guess it's my way of balancing myself because I love my clothes, men and food to be slightly out there. Many of my friends are very surprised by my traditional furniture taste. But I do love odd art and knick knacks to decorate around my traditional furniture.
2.) I am a Hellified Budgeter
Since I have been on my own I have budgeted my money down to the t. I am amazed at how good I am at it. I usually am the one who will spend my whole check on something that I absolutely did not need. But now that I am on my own not so much.
1.) I am Down Right Sickening in the Kitchen
Before I left I could barely boil water. Then I got a cook book (don't judge) that broke down all the cooking basics. Now I can cook anything. I figured out cooking is not that hard and I became a regular Paula Deen minus the heart attack cooking. If you follow me on twitter you already know that I twitpic my meals all the time since I am so proud of finally being able to cook.
So proud of you, girlie. I don't think I'll ever get to learn these things since I've never been on my own, so I'll just live through you. =D
